Wheel profile measuring device OPTIMESS WP

The new Optimess WP wheel profile sensor makes it possible to measure wheel profile and wheel diameter with the highest accuracy in a short time. The wheel profile is scanned contact-free by laser and the various profile parameters are automatically calculated and displayed.

The measurement procedure, wheel and train types can be freely configured, and the measurement is then carried out fully automatically via one-button operation.

Application

Software

The measurement programme allows the simple recording of individual wheels, axles or entire trains. The profile is displayed online during the measurement.

The desired profile values are already available at the end of the measurement and are displayed in colour according to the previously defined tolerances. This allows a simple check immediately after the measurement. The acquisition of a train is graphically guided by the programme so that one press of a button is sufficient to trigger the next measurement.

The programme runs on Windows 7 or higher. There are various Windows 10 tablet solutions to choose from for recording.

  • Equivalent conicity

    Software module for calculating the equivalent conicity according to DIN EN 15302 or UIC 519. Rail profile, inclination and distance can be freely selected and stored as track type.  Calculation, display and tolerance monitoring are carried out online.

  • Measurement module wheel back distance Ar

    An electronic measuring tape is used to record the internal distance between the two flat surfaces of the wheels. The compact measuring module is integrated in the wheel profile sensor.
